Lugar Público by Antoni Muntadas
Sao Paulo, Brazil opening April 5th.

Curated by Diego Matos and sponsored by Sesc Pompeia, this project is a site-specific installation featuring audiovisual and text interventions, as well as architectural structures designed to explore the meanings of "public"—both as an audience and as public space—while prompting reflections on contemporary urban environments and the notions of leisure and the public sphere. This will be Muntadas’s largest site specific installation to date

Given Muntadas’ long-standing connection with Brazil—spanning over five decades—this initiative emphasizes public discourse around his work in a Brazilian context. From his early pieces in the 1970s to his most recent creations, the exhibition invites visitors to engage in a visual and conceptual dialogue.

Antoni Muntadas (Barcelona, 1942) has built a unique career that blends architecture, visual arts, and extensive research into information media and its social implications. Throughout the years, he has dedicated himself to art and research, particularly as a researcher at the Center for Advanced Visual Studies and professor at VAP and ACT at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA) and the University of Venice.
