Notes:

Lipchitz first made this sculpture in black basalt. Then he made it larger in white stone for Mme. H. de Mondrot, for the garden of her summer-‐house designed by Le Corbusier. In 1948 she presented the work to the Kunsthaus, Zurich. The basalt version was later acquired by Mrs. John D. Rockefeller III and is now on extended load to the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The bronze edition of seven was cast at the Modern Art Foundry in Long Island City, New York. The plaster is in the collection of the Kroller -‐Muller Museum in Otterlo, The Netherlands.
